About Author

Author Family Background

Ajay K. Dwibedi was born in a small village named Kalimela, in Malkanagiri, the southwesternmost district in the Indian state of Odisha. The day was 9th September 1976. His father Late Jogendra Dwibedi was a govt. employee. He was in the agricultural department and had a dynamic personality. Though he was a govt employee, he was good at cultivation, managing cattle, and cooking. He was also a Pujari. Even he knew marketing and was a good businessman also. Ajay’s mother Sunamani Dwibedi is a typical example of a woman who follows her traditionalism rigorously and in a precise manner. She never went to school. But she can read any Odia book. She is a devotee and more interested in religious books. Even she was into marketing and business.

Ajay was the youngest boy in his family among 3 sons (Janmajay, Vijay, and Ajay) and 4 daughters (Satyabhama, Soudamani, Puspa, and Meenarani). His elder brother Janmajay Dwibedi is a big contractor in Andhra Pradesh and Bijay Dwibedi is an Entrepreneur, having wholesale business in dealings with electronics. His sisters are also entrepreneurs in different fields.

Author Childhood

Ajay spent the first 16 years of his childhood in his village Kalimela itself. Though he was brought up in a small village, he was very receptive, and full of enthusiasm since his childhood. His childhood was not as rosy and peaceful as we think it could be. While at an early age, many children start playing and roaming here & there, Ajay’s hustling life had already been started then, where he was still trying to manage himself, along with exploring & understanding his surroundings & new things.

“Circumstances and needs compel a person to learn all that is necessary to make a person a human being. That’s why it is not necessary that if you have everything – you feel that you have everything, you have everything.

That is why every little thing should be important in our minds. You may be giving up all those things, which you should have experienced or should have, but they are not with you, because then you were busy thinking that you have everything.”

Ajay had an interest in business since he was in school in 6th class. And as we know, every journey towards success starts from the small-small steps we take to come our dream true. Since his school timing, he started selling balloons on a cycle during Rathyatra. Not only this, he even sold Ghuguni and tea during Shivratri. He used to collect the discarded glass bottles of the people and sell them in the market. Today’s kids may not know, but in earlier times things used to come in glass bottles, not in plastic bottles.

He also started selling milk. He took cattle for grazing. He did agriculture along with his father. He was in a stationery shop also for some time. He observed there how supplies incur and dealings went on while stationery products came from various places like Rajamahendri, Raipur, Jagadalpur, Berhampur, Cuttack. He also started his seasonal business like selling Greetings and Rakhi. He also engaged in giving home-to-home Star line connections.

You will be surprised to know that Ajay was the boy who once developed cricket in his village. His interest and efforts in cricket encouraged other children of the village to play cricket. As the result, Kanhu Patnaik, one boy from his village is now playing cricket in London. Today Ajay considers this childhood effort as a unique achievement of his life. He also helped the children of his village to learn Kabaddi, Hockey, and other rural games.

Let me clear one thing he was a good guide (senior) in academic subjects for his juniors. When he was in 10th he used to help and understand concepts of Mathematics and Science to 7th and 8th students.

Author – To Berhampur

He completed his 10th in 1992 from Kalimela and +2 from Balimela Science College after 2 years. He then started concentrating on his business. He got 3rd division in his +2 Science. So, he thought he would leave his studies and start his own business. But he could not stay far away from his studies. He thought of taking his degree. That’s why he joined B.Com in 1995. By now he had come to Berhampur.

While he was in Berhampur and pursuing his bachelor’s degree, he was still managing to think about his business. He bought a rikshaw at Rs. 5000 and gave it on rent. From there he used to earn Rs. 20 per day. Even he sold Rakhi, Holi, Greetings cards, and Crackers. He guided others to start their own shop. By his effort and guidance, Anubhav store, Anubhav Academy, and Ranjit Communications came into existence in Berhampur.

Initiation of TNT

In 1999, he started providing classes to matric students. The story of TNT starts with those 6 matric students. The very story of TNT starts from a single room, taken on rent by Ajay for Rs. 400. It was then at Co-operative Colony 1st lane, Berhampur.

He is still trying to find a place for himself and others in the challenges. We should learn from him, no matter what the obstacles maybe, but if you want something with a sincere heart, and you will work to fulfill your dreams, then your destination will not be far from you.
